“What type of exercise should I do?”

I can not begin to count the number of times that I have been asked this question over the years by my fitness class students. My answer is always, the best type of exercise for you is the exercise that you enjoy! Find something that you love because you will most likely be able to incorporate that activity into your life easily. If you don’t find any enjoyment in running, don’t run. If you don’t find any enjoyment in kickboxing, don’t do kickboxing. If you dot find any enjoyment in roller skating…………. Find your exercise of choice by experimenting with various forms. Once you find the exercise best for you, focus on getting the most benefit from it. As an example, let’s say that you enjoy walking. Start a walking routine by walking 10 minutes away from your home (car, office, whatever), you then must walk 10 minutes back, 20 minutes of exercise, done. That is a start. Then begin to adjust your workout by increasing your speed (pace), time (adding one additional minute per walk) or intensity (jogging a little bit). Find a partner to walk with you (or not!!!!), make a favorite music playlist to accompany your walk, walk in a place which offers sightly landscapes.

There are an abundance of exercise options available to you!

Yoga, pilates, zumba, strength training, swimming, jogging, cycling, HOPEFULLY YOU WILL CHOOSE TO JOIN ME in some of these activities!!!
